Rhonda Bird

Rhonda Bird is the General Manager for DMG Microlabs and has comprehensive experience in the efficient operations of small business. Having started her professional life in the banking industry, Rhonda brings to DMG over 25 years experience in managing all the day-to-day operations of our office.

Rhonda has excelled in customer service through her previous positions in the banking and medical industries, and her dedication to providing this customer service ensures clients of DMG Microlabs will always be guaranteed of receiving the best customer service.

In the late 1980’s, Rhonda travelled extensively throughout Europe and America, gaining not only life experience, but it also brought her into contact with people from all walks of life, which is evident in her ability to relate to all kinds of personalities.

On returning to Australia in 1993, Rhonda undertook studies in natural medicine, and on graduating as a homeopath in 1997, ran her own successful business as a homeopathic consultant for 8 years.

Diversity and a passion for efficient customer service are a priority for Rhonda. She was raised with good old-fashioned values such as integrity, honesty and hard work – ethics which she upholds and displays in her day-to-day life. Rhonda believes in leading by example, and has a passion for motivating others to follow her lead in providing the best customer service.

Rhonda is a professional member of the Australian Institute of Management and an Associate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.  Her professional skills are maintained through regular courses run by these institutions.

Maryanne Gorst

Maryanne Gorst is the Laboratory Manager for DMG Microlabs and has over 20 years laboratory experience within the food industry for an international dairy company.  She worked in the dairy laboratory as an analyst for 12.5 years in both chemistry and microbiological laboratories and has 7.5 years managerial experience as the laboratory supervisor where she was responsible for over 10 staff, training, ordering/purchasing and financial compliance for the laboratory.

Maryanne’s previous laboratory experience is within an established NATA accredited laboratory working under a well-developed quality management system.  During Maryanne’s career she has also gained invaluable experience while working at some of the regional laboratories within the dairy company group.  She provided insight, recommendations and feedback for continuous improvement and compliance to company methodologies and the quality management system.  Maryanne has been a NATA signatory for over 10 years for general microbiological and chemical testing.

In 1992 Maryanne graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biologicial Chemistry and Biological Science.  Since then she has worked in the roles of Lab Analyst and Laboratory Supervisor before her current role with DMG.

As a laboratory supervisor she developed the skills to be able to liaise effectively with staff and clients and feels that she brings her professionalism, dedication and enthusiasm to DMG Microlabs.

Teamwork and a common goal are key to an efficient and enjoyable work environment and are the principles behind her laboratory management.  She requires of herself and of her team integrity and honesty in every interaction with people striving to consider the big picture and to treat all fairly and equally.  Maryanne’s passion for details and meticulousness are characteristics that define her requirements of herself and of her team and aid in the technical aspect of her career.

Maryanne’s community involvement as a volunteer within Girl Guides as a leader and Sunday School as a teacher show one of the facets of her personality, with her creativeness being expressed in her card making/scrapbooking and photography.  She believes that a smile will help in almost every situation.
